Taxi Review

The taxicabs in Kolkata are filthy, with malfunctioning parts, especially the brakes, these taxis never go for safety inspection. The drivers are uncouth, discourteous...looking for an opportunity to fleece customers...and they spit all the time. As if all these are not bad enough, the vast majority of taxidrivers do not have valid driving permits; if they get caught, they just pay a bribe of few hundred rupees. Nobody seems bothered about any of this.

Old taxi's in Mumbai- The Ambassadors... are just junk!!! It will take an effort to clean then, to find a place in museum... I could not withstand them for 30 mins. Wonder how people drive them whole day!!!

Taxi walas always charge on per Km wise basis, and they always try to MAKE MONEY by taking long routes have no consideration for teh passengers time at all. If you go to some unknown place, and you stuck into this kind of situations most of the time. This whole thing is very FRUSTATING. Instead of this I alwas prefer pre-paid rikshaw or decode the fare to destination, no matter whatever route they want to take.
