"Today we had a bad experience: driver 2881 took us from the Sheraton Hotel to the City Center Mall. After he started we asked him to use the taximeter. He claimed it is "down", but he would charge only 20 QR. We tried to negotiate and told him, that this distance should be less than 10 QR . He finally requested 15 QR for a 2min ride!"

THEY ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE STANDARD RATE.MOST OF THEM USING TARIFF 0, WHICH CHARGING MORE THAN NORMAL RATE(TARIFF 1).THEY ARE PUTTING TAPE HALF OF THE METER NO, SO IT WILL LOOK TARIFF 1.IF YOU GET THE RECEIPT YOU WILL FOUND OUT THAT THEY CHARGE TARIFF 0.IF YOU ASK WHY YOU CHARGE ME MORE THEY WILL GIVE REASON THAT TRAFFIC, OR THEY ARE RENTAL.SOME OF THEM ALSO ARE VERY RUDE."

"The taxi number is 1911 and he told us that he just rent the car from Karwa and doesn't care about his passengers. He did want to put the meter on and when the people from the Marriott and my husband and I managed to convince him a bit, he did put the meter on but when I tried to talked to him and make sense of what happened he got violent and treatened to slap or hit me.
Is this what we shall happen in Qatar where they're expecting the World Cup in 2022? We called the police a lot of time but since the taxi was moving towards our house the police cannot take any actions. It's sad though in a way they were a bit accommodating, however, even though we complain now. It will be in mowsalat record only on Sunday. What it the driver changed or rented another car. Is there no authority at all regarding the land and transportation of this country.
It's sad to think that though they are moving fast forward this public transport is always holding them back. As no proper authority is handling the problem and improvement/maintenance of the transportation.
When will the government wakes up????
The people need you now more than ever!"
